After purchasing Panasonic high-def tv, the first thing on my mind was how long do I have to wait to receive sky high-definition put in. I’d already saw high-definition movies via my apple telly and was real impressed, but I could not sustain paying for hired films. What I truly needed is sky, I wanted all the films and I wanted football in high-definition. I had read numerous sky hd reviews that I had to just get it.

How did I order sky high-definition

Well I got on-line and signed up, it took about ten minutes and was somewhat pain-free, much of my time was spent mixing up the bundles, adding and removing – did I genuinely want sky arts. I opted for the sky HD package, the high-definition bundle and the film bundle. It was rather pricey I would now find myself paying just under sixty pounds per calendar month but would have everything I wanted in high-definition. It took a couple of weeks to get the whole thing put in, I live in flats and already have a common dish, so the sky set up was just some bloke giving me the sky high-def box, and installing it. I could have done this myself, but it was this lads problem. It took him about 5 mins, after which he gave me a quick summing up on the features. I just needed him to leave so I could play with my new toy.

How good is the high definition picture
The high definition picture quality is in a word magnificent. The best way I can describe it? well, I wear spectacles the pictures on a regular television is like watching without my specs, fuzzy, lack of detail etc. When you see a high-def image is like wearing the glasses so much more detail, sharp you start to see things that you would never find on the old image. I found myself considering what would the matrix look like in high-def, before I knew it I was watching all my loved films again in HD.

Other benefits of sky high def

Well the other major benefit from my point of view is the sound quality. Sky pumps out dolby digital 5.1 surround sound. So, like me, if you have a 5.1 system, I have a sony, can’t recall the model but it cost a lot, then the sound is stunning.
The remote record feature is also a super feature. It basically allows you to visit the sky website, view the tv schedule, and record. So if you are at work you can browse the schedule and record at your lesiure, when you get home everything will be sitting inside your sky high-def box ready to view.

Free broadband – I was a little uncertain about the free broadband. I was with bt, and they had the worst service. I was lucky if I got 1mb download speed, despite many telephone calls they never solved it. When you call bt youre calls are sent to india, where despite their best efforts the staff are just reading from a script. I could never understand what they were saying and got really defeated. So thanks to bt, I determined to choose for the sky broadband and try and save a bit of cash, I was paying bt 20 pounds for the pleasure of their terrible service.

I got the sky hd box working first, and eventually got the free broadband a couple of weeks later, as bt were slow in making things happen their end. I was fearing trying the net as I thought it would be slower than bt. To my surprise the connection was a full 2mb, I know this is not the fastest but for me I was jumping with joy.
